You call your vet and have them recommend something for you. There are products out there to help even with a pregnant dog. Your vet can best advise with this. It is very important to get rid of the fleas before the pups are born. And to keep mom flea free too. You are smart to get this under control now and not after the pups are born.
Good for you.
Now call your vet!

Our shelter uses Advantage on pregnant and nursing dogs and cats all the time. Has caused no problems and is better than the tapeworms and anemia that come from the fleas.

Use a pH balanced shampoo to wash her in. This will kill fleas on her just as well as a flea shampoo. Also address the environment she is in. There are safe spays to use indoors to help control flea populations.

Flea shampoos shouldn’t be used on any dog, pregnant or not, they don’t work.
Consult a vet, they will tell you to use Frontline spray or spot-on, both of which are safe for pregnant dogs because they stay on the animal’s skin, they do not affect them internally. You need to get this problem sorted before the pups are born, as you know, so the pups don’t get infested with fleas when they are born. Frontline spray can also be used on puppies and kittens from two days of age.
Don’t even bother trying to find a suitable treatment from pet store – a lot of pet store stuff is dangerous, stores aren’t licensed to sell the right chemicals.
